Brett Flowers - He knew he wouldn’t get me out for a fancey date. After 7 years together we got used to sweatpants, nights in with popcorn and netflix. The night he proposed I had already showered and was in my PJs and hair in a towel. He showed up on my grinch porch with the surprise of a life time! Can’t wait to start our life together on 9-12-15
Lauren Brown - He surprised me with a private sunset sail boat cruise on the ocean. I thought nothing of it because he is usually so romantic until we happen upon a bottle floating in the ocean. The captain convinced me to lean over the boat and pull it out of the water… I was completely shocked to find the note inside of it that said “will you marry me?”! I turned around to see Drew down on one knee… it was the most romantic and unforgettable night of our lives!
Mollie Lindsey - John, my fiance, and I are a low maintenance couple. We love the outdoors and doing anything adventurous. He decided that pulling out an giant stops would give me a heads up on the proposal. So, some back story before I dive straight into the juicy details. John and I grew up a mile from one another, but didn’t find each other until our junior year of college. He will be graduating from Mississippi State in August with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, whereas I graduated in December from Mississippi College with a degree in Biomedical Science. I will begin dental school at UAB this summer. That being said, that is how we chose our wedding date, December 19, 2015. It’s my only break from school! When we first started dating we spent a weekend back in Birmingham. He took me to “Cry Baby Bridge” (closed bridge over the Cahaba River that connects Sicard Hollow to 280). We’ve gone back to visit the bridge since then. On July 29th, 2014, John and I decided it would be a good idea to carve our initials into the bridge (shhh!). When we went back on March 13th, 2015 to find our initials he brought up the July 29th visit. He asked me if I remember how happy he was on that day and asked me if I remembered why he had been so happy. He told me on July 29th that he was happy for no specific reason, but on March 13th, 2015 he fessed up to the one fib he has told me since we’ve been dating. He told me that that day (July 29th) was the day he realized how and where he was going to ask me to marry him and THAT was the reason he was so happy. So, on March 13th, 2015 John got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. He threw in a lot of unnecessary “pleases”, after which I obviously said yes! We would love to capture this time of our life with an engagement shoot at the bridge. (Side note: we don’t have Twitter, but I followed you on Instagram!)
Catie Garzarek - Well, I actually knew Kyle had the ring because I picked it out but we had a vacation planned a few weeks out so I was pretty sure that it would be then. So, right after that I was petsitting for my cousin and her husband while they were out of town. All day long he had told me that he found this video of him being silly and wanted me to watch it, but only when he was near. I knew that he’d brought the ring to work to show his mom (yes, I snagged the boss’s son 😉 ) but he said she took it home so he wouldn’t lose it. Well, after work he kept insisting we come back to let the dogs out while all I wanted was some mexican food. After some persuasion I agreed as long as we went to eat right after. We came back, let the dogs and my phone lit up. I open the text and watch this video of him sitting in the car telling me how much he loves me and how we’re meant for each other, etc.. At the end of the video he said that “I have no question about wanting to spend forever with you but I do have one question” and I turn and he’s down on his knee with the ring! It was so simple and precious which was perfect for us! So thanks for getting married and causing the chain of events for this special moment! 🙂
